About us

Located above Lake Mouriscot in Biarritz, Villa Magnan is what we like to call a pension de famille. The property is composed of several guesthouses. As for the main Villa, it remains private and not accessible to guests. The location will offer you a quiet stay, surrounded by nature and our animals, while being able to go quickly to the beach or to center town and enjoying our pool. We recommend that residents have a car to enjoy the surrounding areas and get around more easily. During your stay we will offer you a guide with our favourite addresses. The breakfast, included in the room rate, will be served in the company of all residents on the terrace of the kitchen, dining room of the Villa or Orangery, between 9 and 11 am. We work with local producers and products, and our cooks prepare a sweet and savoury buffet every morning. Please note that the rooms are not intended for cooking and there is no access to the Villa's kitchen.

«Breakfast is served in the Villa’s large kitchen, Orangerie, or on the terrace. It is served from 9am until 11am. The residents arrive, one after the other, and gather around the same large table. Usually our cook is already cooking a thousand and one good dishes or cakes. So it smells good, like in a real house. We have a turntable and vinyl records in the kitchen and we play whatever we want. We can dance sometimes. It’s quite cheerful. We talk a lot, about everything and nothing, like in a real family. "In 2017, Anne and Jérôme Israel, a former film set designer and director of photography, bought the property from one of the grandsons of the original owners, the Marquis de Casa Riera and his wife, Blanca de Aragón y Carrillo de Albornoz (the parents of the late Queen of the Belgians, Fabiola), who had taken refuge there in the early 1930s when the Spanish monarchy fell and the Republic was proclaimed."
